Police have shot and killed an armed man on the Logan Motorway during morning peak hour traffic.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Drewvale just after 6am this morning.
The man – who witnesses reported walking along the road armed with a gun – is understood to have confronted officers at the scene, before he was shot by police.
The eastbound lanes of the highway are closed and expected to remain closed for most of the day as police investigate the incident.
Police are asking eastbound drivers to find alternate routes to the Logan Motorway.
