A 51-year-old man has died following a serious traffic crash involving three vehicles in Glastonbury near Gympie last night.

Police say that at around 6.30pm, two vehicles were travelling along Glastonbury Road when they collided. One of the drivers – a 51-year-old Widgee man – suffered fatal injuries.

“A nearby motorist stopped to render assistance, when a third vehicle approached the crash site and collided with the two stationary cars, causing injury to the second driver, a 54-year-old Amamoor Creek man and the assisting motorist a 28-year-old Lagoon Pocket woman,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

“The two were transported to Gympie Hospital with minor injuries.”

The driver of the third car was not injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit will be investigating the two crashes and are appealing for anyone that may have witnessed them or has information to come forward.
