Man charged with rape of five workmates

Detectives have charged a man following an investigation into the alleged rape of five women in Sydney’s Inner West.

In July this year, officers from Burwood Police Area Command commenced an investigation following reports five women had been sexually assaulted by a man known to them.

Following extensive inquires, a Campsie man was arrested yesterday.

It will be alleged in court that he raped the women while working at a store at the Birkenhead Point Brand Outlet Centre on Roseby Street in Drummoyne.

He was charged with six counts of sexually touch another person without consent and six counts of sexual intercourse without consent.

Police will allege in court that the women – aged between 18 and 21 – were sexually assaulted by the man while working at a store at Drummoyne between February 2019 and July 2020.

The man was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on November 23.
