A 40-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following the alleged wounding of a 70-year-old grandmother in Boronia Heights on Saturday.
Police and emergency services were called to a residence on Short Street around 11.40pm on December 14th following reports a woman had allegedly been stabbed.
“Upon arrival, police located a 70-year-old woman, who resides at the address, with life-threatening injuries,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
“She was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with serious injuries to her face, neck and chest.”
Police will allege the man and woman are known to each other.
The 40-year-old Boronia Heights man was taken into custody at the scene and has since been charged with attempted murder, enter dwelling with intent by break at night, wilful damage and domestic violence offences.
The matter was heard before Beenleigh Magistrates Court today. He is due to reappear in court tomorrow.
