Man charged over Horton Street blaze

A man has been charged following an alleged arson attack on several Port Macquarie businesses last year.

Two businesses were destroyed as a result of the blaze on Horton Street in the early hours of June 8 in 2019.

Following extensive inquiries, investigators attended a unit on Braemar Street, Port Macquarie and arrested a 28-year-old man about 9.25am last Friday.

He was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station and charged with break and enter house destroy property, damage property by fire and break and enter house, steal.

He was refused bail to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on Friday, where he was formally bail refused to appear at the same court today.
