Victorian detectives have charged a man following a fatal collision in Caulfield South last year which claimed the life of an 87-year-old man.
Police say that on April 17th 2022, a car collided with a man on a mobility scooter on the pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Kooyong Road and Glen Huntly Road.
“Emergency services were called to the scene about 9.25am and the 87-year-old Caulfield South man on the mobility wheelchair was taken to hospital with serious injuries,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
He died as a result of his injuries on Wednesday, 20 April.
“The driver of the car, a 23-year-old Kalkallo man, stopped at the scene.”
“He has today been charged with dangerous driving causing death, careless driving and fail to give way to a pedestrian on a pedestrian crossing,” Police said.
He’s been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on February 27th.
