Man, 74, arrested in Wahroonga shooting

A 74-year-old man has been arrested after a shooting in Sydney’s Upper North Shore today.

Police say that at about 10.10am, officers attached to Kuring-Gai Police Area Command were called to a home on Highlands Avenue, Wahroonga, following reports of shots fired.

Upon arrival, police found a man, aged in his 50s, with a wound to his neck.

He was treated at the scene before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious condition.

A 74-year-old man was also treated at the scene for facial injuries, before being taken to the same hospital under police guard.

A crime scene has been established, and two firearms have been seized.

The men are known to each other and an investigation into circumstances surrounding the incident is underway.

No further information is available at this time.

Highlands Avenue remains closed with the public urged to avoid the area.
