We don’t always get to see the dog behind the detection in police work – but here’s NSW Police Drug Detection Dog, Lulu, who played a big part in the seizure of 5kg of methylamphetamine in Sydney last week.
Wetherill Park police charged four people following the detection, seizing the illicit drugs along with more than $50,000 in case, and thousands more in designer goods and vehicles.
“Great work by DDD Lulu, her handler and all the other police involved in this operation last week. A great result,” the NSW Police dog unit wrote on its social media pages.
Police say the drugs detected by Lulu had an estimated potential street value of $800,000. Other prohibited drugs including cannabis and a large amount of unidentified white powder were also seized in the police raids.
A 31-year-old woman and three men – aged 30, 36 and 62 – were arrested and charged with serious drug-related offences.
Good work, DDD Lulu!
