Horsham Rural City Council has introduced a new initiative, Business Bingo, aimed at encouraging residents to shop locally.
To participate in Business Bingo, shoppers need to spend a minimum of $10 in any participating store to receive a bingo card stamp. To complete a bingo card, participants must shop at one business from each card column under the respective bingo letters. Unlike traditional bingo, the stamps do not need to be in a line.
To be eligible for Council’s prize draw, all five columns on the bingo card must have one stamp from participating businesses. Entries must be received by Friday, December 20 at 1pm. The winners will be drawn at the Santa Day races on Sunday, December 22, 2024, and will receive their vouchers in January 2025.
“This initiative not only aims to boost local commerce but also adds a fun and engaging element to holiday shopping,” Council said in a statement.
“By participating in Business Bingo, residents can support local businesses, enjoy a festive shopping experience, and have a chance to win exciting prizes.”
The prizes on offer are:
- 1st – 5 x $100 vouchers from participating businesses;
- 2nd – 5 x $20 vouchers from participating businesses;
- 3rd – 5 x $25 vouchers from participating businesses.
Bingo cards are available at participating businesses and the Wimmera Business Centre, located at 62 Darlot Street, Horsham.
