Police continue to lead a search and rescue for a missing hiker last seen on the Fraser Island Great Walk on Thursday afternoon.
73-year-old Madeleine Nowak has previous trail walking experience and was on an organised tour, when she became separated from the group.
Police say she had clothing and food with her at the time of her disappearance.
A search and rescue commenced on Thursday evening and continued throughout Friday with the assistance of Rescue 522 Helicopter, however Madeleine was not located.
Police are appealing for anyone who may be visiting Fraser Island this weekend to keep an eye out for Madeleine.
Searches resumed at first light today.
