An elderly man reported missing from Surry Hills yesterday, has been found safe.
Officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command began searching for the 88-year-old man after he was last seen leaving his home early yesterday, and made a public appeal for assistance.
“Police patrolling the Moore Park area found the man early this morning; he was cold but otherwise unharmed,” NSW Police said in a statement today.
“Paramedics were called Surry Hills Police Station to check the man over as a precaution, before he was reunited with his family.
“Police thank the media and the local community for their efforts to find the man.”

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate an elderly man last seen in central Sydney.
Vasilios Karahalios, also known as ‘Bill’, aged 88, was last seen at a home on Crown Street, Surry Hills, about 6.45am yesterday.
“Police and family hold concerns for his welfare as he lives with dementia and requires medication,” NSW Police said in a statement.
Bill is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, about 170cm – 175cm tall, of thin build with white hair and a moustache. He was last seen wearing black tracksuit pants, a blue and brown striped pyjama top, and black shoes.
