Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a girl missing from Sydney’s West this week.
Police say Amelia Hamza, aged 12, was last seen leaving a home on Denbern Street, Dean Park, about 12pm on Thursday.
“When she failed to return home, officers from Quakers Hill Police Area Command were notified of her disappearance yesterday and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“Police and family have concerns for Amelia’s welfare due to her young age and inquiries have led police to believe she spent time in the Sydney CBD yesterday.”
Amelia is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, about 150cm tall, of slim build, with shoulder-length brown hair and brown eyes.
Police are urging anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
