Harley rider, 67, killed in Mount Ossa crash

Queensland Police Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating a fatal traffic crash at Mount Ossa that claimed the life of a 67-year-old motorcyclist on Monday afternoon.

Police say their initial investigations indicate that at around 2:10pm yesterday, emergency services were called to the Bruce Highway in Mount Ossa, north of Mackay, following reports of a Harley Davidson motorcycle had crashed.

“The rider, a 67-year-old Roma man, sustained significant life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mackay Base Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

“The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the incident and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has relevant dashcam footage to come forward.”
