Fur-bassadors a hit at NSW Seniors Expo

Seniors attending the free NSW Seniors Expo at the Sydney International Convention Centre (ICC) today and tomorrow are being welcomed by loveable RSPCA NSW fur-bassador pups.

RSPCA NSW is at booth 73 inside the NSW Seniors Expo championing the power of animal companionship, which is associated with positive outcomes for older people, particularly in significantly reducing loneliness, which in older adults is associated with negative physical and mental health outcomes including cardiovascular disease, depression and accelerated mortality.

Attendees can learn about initiatives geared towards seniors including volunteering opportunities and the RSPCA’s seniors for seniors 50% discount on adoptions fees for Seniors Card or Senior Savers Card holders if they adopt a dog or cat from RSPCA NSW aged over eight years old. This heartwarming program also includes RSPCA NSW veterinary hospitals offering a 10% discount on all veterinary services for Seniors Card (and Senior Savers card) holders.

Along with discounts on adoptions and veterinary treatments, this promotion provides adopters with access to the RSPCA’s Home Ever After program. The RSPCA Home Ever After program is a tailored, future care plan for pets, ensuring that animal companions receive ongoing love and care should something happen to their owner.
