Female driver, 58, caught fives times over limit

A 58-year-old woman was found to be allegedly five times over the legal alcohol limit following a collision in East Melbourne last night.

Police were called to the crash at the intersection of Lansdown and Albert streets about 11pm.

“It is alleged a car crashed into the back of a Jeep wagon, then reversed and collided with another car,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

“The driver, a 58-year-old Toorak woman, was taken to a police station for an evidentiary breath test.

“Her licence was immediately suspended after she returned an alleged reading of .263.”

It is expected the woman will be charged on summons in relation to drink driving and other traffic matters.
