Police are seeking public assistance to locate the driver of a car that crashed into the lounge room of a home in Bentleigh in the early hours of this morning.
Police say that a white Audi was travelling along Tucker Road when it crossed onto the wrong side of the road, crashed through a fence and into the home around 2am.
“The male driver managed to free himself from the wreckage and fled the scene on foot,” Victoria Police said in a statement.”
Police are also hoping to find a Italian greyhound puppy, who has been missing since the crash.
“When the sleeping family came downstairs to investigate what had happened, they found a car covered in bricks in their loungeroom but their 1-year-old dog ‘Vic’ missing,” said Police.
“Police conducted patrols of the area searching for the driver and pooch however neither have yet been located.”
