Divers called in to Port Macquarie search

A land and sea search will continue this morning for a man believed missing on the state’s Mid North Coast.

NSW Police say that at about 7.45am on Saturday, emergency services were called to Lighthouse Beach, south of Port Macquarie, responding to reports 56-year-old man, Mark James, had gone missing at that location.

Mr James is described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 165 and 175cm tall, of thin build, with a fair complexion, bald head, and brown eyes.

Officers from the Mid North Coast Police District commenced a search which has been ongoing.

The search, assisted by PolAir, Surf Lifesaving NSW, and the State Emergency Service, was suspended just before 5pm yesterday.

It is expected to resume today, with police divers to assist search teams this morning.
