Christmas pup returned to owner

A big Christmas cheer for Wyndham North Police who have reunited a stolen Christmas inflatable decoration with its owner after it was stolen from the yard of a Hoppers Crossing home last month.

The inflatable Christmas pup was pulled from its front yard prime position by thieves on Parkside Walk on 26 November about 10am.

“Following an appeal by police for information and significant media coverage police received numerous calls about the incident into the local police station and Crime Stoppers,” Victoria Police said today.

With a number of leads in hand, police executed two warrants in Hoppers Crossing and Werribee.

The inflatable pup was recovered from Hoppers Crossing and the allegedly stolen scooter used at the time of the theft, was recovered from Werribee.

“A 16-year-old boy from Hoppers Crossing was issued a caution in relation to handling stolen goods,” Victoria Police said.

The teenager from Werribee has been interviewed and is expected to be charged on summons with handling stolen goods, unlicensed driving, careless driving and possess a prohibited weapon.

“Police would like to thank the media and public for their assistance.”
