Car sought in Pacific Haven death case

Detectives from the Maryborough CIB and Homicide Investigation Unit are seeking public assistance as they work to unravel the circumstances surrounding the suspicious death of a 58-year-old Pacific Haven man on Saturday.

Police are appealing for people in the Howard, Burrum and Pacific Haven areas who may have spotted a man and a woman driving a light blue four door 2011 Hyundai Accent sedan (pictured) between 10pm on Friday, April 2 and midday on Saturday, April 3 to come forward.

“Anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage of the Hyundai driving through the Burrum and Pacific Haven Drive areas is also urged to contact police,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

Initial investigations suggest a 42-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman attended an address on Pacific Haven Drive just after midday where a physical altercation broke out between the pair and a 58-year-old male resident, police said.

“The 58-year-old man suffered a severe wound during the disturbance and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

“The 42-year-old man and 40-year-old woman were also injured during the altercation and were transported to hospital,” Queensland Police said.

It is believed all three people were known to each other. Police are speaking to a 42-year-old Maryborough man and a 40-year-old Maryborough woman as part of their investigation.
