Queensland Police have charged a man over the serious assault of a 73-year-old in Sandgate last week.
Police say a 47-year-old Brighton man attended the Carseldine Police Station this afternoon, where he was charged with one count of serious assault person over 60 and one count of trespass.
“It will be alleged on Saturday, October 29, a 73-year-old Bracken Ridge man was punched about the head by another man on Ward Street. He fell to the ground and was punched several more times in the head,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
“The 73-year-old man sustained bruising and facial injuries and sought treatment in hospital.”
The 47-year-old will appear in the Sandgate Magistrates Court on December 12th.
