Author Rosalie Ham leads International Women’s Day in Murrumbidgee

Around 80 community members recently gathered at Jerilderie Civic Hall to celebrate International Women’s Day with internationally bestselling author, Rosalie Ham.

Born and raised in Jerilderie, Ms Ham’s return created a meaningful connection for women across the Murrumbidgee Council to come together, share stories and celebrate, said Murrumbidgee Mayor Ruth McRae OAM.

“International Women’s Day is about celebrating the achievements of women and the strength of our community. This event was a wonderful opportunity to come together, be inspired, and recognise the contributions of women locally,” the Mayor said.

Guests were treated to an engaging keynote address and a preview of Rosalie’s forthcoming book and first non-fiction publication, Look After Your Feet.

“It was a pleasure to meet so many community members and share my book ahead of its launch,” said Ms Ham.

Many also took the opportunity to purchase signed copies of Look After Your Feet.

Guests enjoyed morning tea provided by Jerilderie CWA and a delicious lunch prepared by Kate Murray and the Roaming Kitchen team.
