Investigators from the Forensic Crash Unit are appealing for witnesses after two people were critically injured in a traffic crash at Kallangur this morning.
Police say preliminary information indicates a silver hatchback was travelling westbound on Anzac Avenue at around 7.45am when it collided with an eastbound grey hatchback at the intersection with Brays Road.
A man and woman, walking their dog, we’re also crossing Anzac Avenue at the intersection.
Following the collision, the silver hatchback then struck both of the pedestrians.
All four people, the two drivers and the two pedestrians were transported to hospital for treatment.
A 31-year-old Kallangur man, driver of the silver hatchback, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
A 46-year-old Murrumba Downs woman, initially trapped in her grey hatchback, is in hospital with critical injuries.
The male pedestrian, a 51-year-old Kallangur man, remains in hospital with critical head injuries. His wife, a 50-year-old woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, or has relevant dashcam footage, to contact them.
