It has long been known that people who grow plants and surround themselves with some part of the natural world have a head start when it comes to fighting stress, depression and anxiety.
The last two years have been very stressful for many people. Now is the time to take a breather and come and enjoy the plants set to be exhibited at The African Violet Association of Australia’s Sydney show in April.
What will be on display? A spectacular collection of African violets of incredible colours, shapes and sizes as well as other rare and unusual associated plants like Streptocarpus, Episcia and Sinningia.
“After a long period when our shows and other activities have had to be cancelled in line with COVID restrictions, these beautiful plants can last be shown and made to the public once again for the pleasure of the members of the Association and the visiting public,” the association said in a statement.
It will be the 41st year of African violet shows in Sydney. The 2020 show was cancelled due to COVID-19 and the 2021 show was postponed until this year due to ongoing pandemic restrictions.
“There will be plenty of interest in the plants on display and for sale after this break. The show will be held at the Burwood RSL Club, 96 Shaftesbury Road, Burwood, NSW as it has been for some years now.”
The African Violet Association of Australia, Inc. was founded in Sydney in November 1981. The Association’s aims are to foster help and friendship through growing plants.
