How to have a Happy COVID New Year

New Year’s Eve will be different in Sydney this year.

To ensure public safety, the NSW Government will be implementing measures that mean you can still welcome the New Year in a COVID-safe way.

Crowd numbers will be strictly controlled around the harbour and a designated Green Zone will be established that means only those with a confirmed booking at a venue within the zone, venue staff, residents and their guests will be allowed entry.

If you fall into one of these categories you will need to apply for a special New Year’s Eve Pass on the NSW Government website www.nsw.gov.au/NYE.

There will also be a Yellow Zone implemented around the Green Zone.

While you won’t require a Pass to enter the Yellow Zone, you are still encouraged to book ahead to avoid disappointment on the night.

Importantly, a number of parks in and around the Yellow Zone will be closed to the public on the night, so please check with your local council before making any plans.
