Two face court over Craignish country club owner’s murder

Two men will face court today over the death of a 64-year-old man in Craignish a week ago.

Police say the body of the owner of the Craignish Country Club, Greg Harding, was found on August 16.

Mr Harding was discovered when a club staff member went looking for him after he failed to show up at the club, which the worker said was out of character.

“He has then unfortunately found him deceased inside his residence,” Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Harbison said on Tuesday.

“Investigations to this point have established that an altercation has occurred within the residence here between 10pm and 11pm on Sunday.

As part of Operation Tango Electra, detectives from the Homicide Investigation Unit and Maryborough Criminal Investigation Branch conducted extensive enquiries.

A 30-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, both from Loganlea, were taken into custody at Coomera on Saturday.

Both men were subsequently charged with murder and remanded in custody, to appear at the Brisbane Magistrates court on today.

Officers say investigations are ongoing and anyone with additional information which may be able to assist with investigations is urged to speak to police.
