The paw-some foursome that defused Sydney school bomb scare

These are the four furry little legends who helped dozens of Sydney high schools to get back to their lessons yesterday after a spate of threatening emails disrupted school activities.

The NSW Police Dog Squad said numerous searches were conducted by Explosive Detection Dogs, Bundy, Chee, Ink and Snoop after police were called in to search and secure school grounds amid fears that bombs had been planted in various facilities.

The awesome foursome were able to give each of the schools the all clear – with no explosive devices located on any school grounds.

Police have launched an investigation into the origins of the threatening emails, which caused havoc with students sitting HSC exams across the Sydney school region yesterday.

Police are working with the Department of Education to ensure school communities are informed of all necessary information for parents of affected schools.

Initial inquiries suggest the threats are linked and detectives from the Cybercrime Squad will lead the investigation into the circumstances and origins of the emails.

Police are reminding the community that sending threatening emails is a serious criminal offence.
