Port Stephens ‘time to shine’ for NSW Seniors Festival

Port Stephens Council has partnered with Terrace Central to host a range of free events for local Seniors as part of 2021 NSW Seniors Festival celebrations.

Terrace Central has created a free inclusive and unique experience for seniors and are set to host a 15 programs and stalls throughout the two-week festival, which runs until April 24.

Seniors will enjoy a range of exciting activities, special guests and a chance to connect with others. 

Terrace Central Centre Management, Ben Robinson said the local festival would showcase a range of custom events.

“But the hero program, The Seniors Community Leaders Photography Exhibition will be a powerful event celebrating 14 key members of Port Stephens who have made a significant contribution to the community,” Mr Robinson said.

“Terrace Central is excited to have partnered with Port Stephens Council to showcase this unique and heart warming exhibition, our community has a number of outstanding members and we wanted to give thanks for their long standing contributions within the Port Stephens community.”

Panthera Group, who own and manage Terrace Central, CEO, Chakyl Camal said retailers were the backbone of Terrace Central.

“Our retailers are the heart of our centre and are contributing exclusive seniors offers and retailer gifts in our program,” Mr Camal said.

“We are particularly proud to have Terry White Chemmart discussing the roll out of COVID vaccinations for the elderly and community favourite, Chris Drane at Terrace Meats will host an everyday cooking demonstration.”

In addition to the community partnerships, Terrace Central are especially excited to welcome international comedian and winner of the prestigious and iconic ‘Australian Mo Award’ for ‘Comedian of the Year’, Jackie Loeb who has become a fixture on the global stand-up comedy landscape. 

The Terrace will also welcome author Sandie Docker as she discusses her latest novel, The Banksia Bay Beach Shack, a moving and heartfelt story by the bestselling author of The Kookaburra Creek Café and The Cottage at Rosella Cove about female friendship, multi-generational relationships and family secrets.
