Estia Health has entered the final stages of construction of its new $34 million residential aged care home in Blakehurst, Sydney.
Located at 392-394 Princes Highway, the facility is due to open in February 2021.
Estia Health last week invited Georges River Council’s Mayor Kevin Greene for a tour of the site to see what the new home will offer.
Estia Health’s Chief Customer Officer, Damian Hiser said the original 42-place home had been demolished in 2018 to make way for a larger 105-place home that will offer quality residential aged care services to the Blakehurst community.
“This new home can offer the space and amenities required for the complex, high-care people now require when entering aged care,” said Mr Hiser.
“Combined with our exceptional team of clinicians and lifestyle and hospitality teams, I truly believe Estia Health Blakehurst will deliver to that purpose and create a home that meets the unique needs and wants of the local community.”
Mayor Greene said he was impressed with the facility.
“Estia Health have done a magnificent job here at Carss Park to be able to provide such a home, not just for our local residents, I’m sure there will be people that come from all over Sydney to enjoy the opportunity presented in this integrated site,” he said.
Located next to Carss Bush Park, the five-storey home will include options for couples wanting to remain together and includes multiple dining, living, outdoor terraces, courtyards and multipurpose areas for lifestyle events and activities.
There will also be a hairdressing salon, beauty therapy room and a Wellbeing Centre, which will include physiotherapy and rehabilitation services for residents as well as the local community.
“These services will be delivered alongside Estia Health’s core clinical care, led by Registered Nurses on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Mr Hiser.
