Melbourne to host Gudinski’s star-studded ANZAC Day concert

Victoria is preparing to host some of the biggest names in Australian music in an epic ANZAC Day eve concert organised by music industry icon, Michael Gudinski, before his tragic passing last month.

The state government and Gudinski’s Mushroom Group will partner to stage ‘Music From The Home Front’ on Saturday, April 24 at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl to a crowd of up to 2,700 patrons.

Headline acts include Jimmy Barnes, Tina Arena, Amy Shark, Ben Lee, Bliss N Eso feat. Kasey Chambers, Budjerah, Dean Lewis, Gordi, Hayley Mary, Jerome Farah, Jess Hitchcock, Lime Cordiale, Mahalia Barnes, Mia Wray, Sam Fischer, Royal Melbourne Hospital Scrub Choir, Tash Sultana, The Kid LAROI, The Rubens, Vance Joy, You Am I, with more still to be announced.

“Dad had many great passions throughout his career, but his love of the local music industry never shone brighter than it did during the last year and it’s incredibly fitting that Music From The Home Front was one of the events he was working on right up until his last day,” said Mushroom Group Chief Executive, Matt Gudinski.

A live national broadcast of the event will kick off at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9NOW and 7.30pm AEST via YouTube on Saturday 24 April.

‘Music From The Home Front’ was conceptualised by Michael Gudinski and was first staged last year and watched by a television audience of 1.159 million viewers.

Michael was well into planning this year’s concert when he tragically passed away on March 2.

Organisers say the concert will feature household names, special moments and surprise collaborations showcasing the breadth and diversity of talent in the local music industry while paying tribute to the rich ANZAC history.

“We are proud to support Music From The Home Front in 2021 and it’s fantastic we can welcome crowds to this year’s event and show our support for the live music industry,” said Acting Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Mary-Anne Thomas

Tickets for the concert will go on sale at 12noon AEST on Friday, April 16 via musicfromthehomefront.com with prices starting at $69.
