NSW has recorded 18 deaths with COVID-19 overnight in what is the state’s deadliest day of the pandemic yet – while also recording a drop in reported case numbers.
The state has reported 20,293 new coronavirus cases – a significant drop from yesterday’s 30,062 cases. However, NSW Health says 15,000 fewer people were tested for the virus at official testing sites yesterday.
Meanwhile, in Victoria, 34,808 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded today, with two more deaths also confirmed.
