Armidale Private Hospital is celebrating 25 years of providing health care services to the community of Armidale and surrounding districts.
Armidale Private Hospital CEO, Debra Maslen said the hospital has grown significantly in the last 25 years but it is the people who make the hospital exceptional.
“Armidale Private Hospital was built in 1998 to meet demand from the local community for additional health care services in the region,” Ms Maslen said.
“In the last 25 years we have grown to include additional services and introduce some of the latest technology including a new Mako robot in 2021.
“We’re passionate about offering the latest technology to the people of Armidale and surrounding regions to reduce the need for patients to have to travel to Sydney or Brisbane to access leading health care services.
“However, what I’m most proud of is the passionate, skilled and dedicated workforce we have built in the past 25 years.”
Since 1998, the hospital has offered a comprehensive range of services for the local community including gynaecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, anaesthetics, dental surgery, endoscopy and general surgery.
“Behind every successful organisation is a team of dedicated, compassionate and professional people and this is no more evident than the team at Armidale Private Hospital,” said Ms Maslen.
“To name a few, there is former CEO Mary Single who was at Armidale Private Hospital from the first day of opening until late last year. Mary dedicated 25 years to the hospital and upheld the ‘Ramsay Way’ values in all aspects of her leadership and nursing. Mary had a strong belief in teamwork and provided a supportive environment to encourage staff growth.
“Another is Nurse Unit Manager of the Operating Theatres, Kath Latter. Kath has been working as a perioperative nurse at Armidale Private since its opening 25 years ago and has been the Nurse Unit Manager for the past five years. Kath is passionate about educating staff to ensure that the patients get the best outcomes possible.
“Another original staff member is Jane Horton, our infection control nurse. Jane provides tremendous knowledge and experience to the hospital and played a vital role in ensuring team and patient safety during the COVID pandemic.
“Lastly, Geraldine Bragg has also been with Armidale Private Hospital since opening. Geraldine is a senior Registered Nurse who consistently demonstrates kindness, compassion and empathy to all the patients and families she cares for.
“All of our team members are committed to providing exceptional service and care and I’d like to thank everyone who has been part of Armidale Private Hospital over the past 25 years.”
