Share a laugh this NSW Seniors Festival

Free comedy shows in Sydney and Batemans Bay are sure to bring a smile to seniors’ faces this March as part of the 2024 NSW Seniors Festival.

Comedians including, He Huang, Tommy Dean, Bruce Griffiths, Sarah Gaul, Peter Berner, Cam Knight and Chris Ryan will join event emcees Jean Kittson (pictured) and Andrew Barnett for an afternoon of laughs.

NSW Minister for Seniors, Jodie Harrison said the shows are a chance for seniors to have a chuckle and make new friends.

“These comedy shows have been a popular fixture of the Seniors Festival over the years and are a great opportunity for seniors to see the comedians they know and love, or maybe discover a new act they haven’t seen before,” Minister Harrison said.

“Seniors have made – and continue to make – incredible contributions to our community and this is the NSW Government’s way of saying thank you. I encourage seniors to get their free tickets and attend these great shows in Sydney and Batemans Bay.

“Keeping people connected and included as they age are key focus areas for the government. Ongoing social participation benefits the health and wellbeing of older people, and the communities they are part of.”

The comedy shows will take place from 11am to 12:30pm at Sydney Town Hall, in Centennial Hall, on Tuesday 19 March, and at the Yuin Theatre in Batemans Bay’s Bay Pavilions on Thursday 21 March.

Free tickets will be available from Thursday 1 February at 10am at https://seniorsfestival.info/comedyshow.

The annual NSW Seniors Festival takes place from 11 to 24 March. The festival is the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere, with more than 500,000 people participating in events held across NSW.

The climax of the Festival are the free Premier’s Gala Concerts which will be held at Sydney’s International Convention Centre on Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 March. Tickets for the gala concerts are available at https://seniorsfestival.info/galaconcert from 9am tomorrow Tuesday 23 January.
