A 51-year-old man and two others in their 40s have been arrested and more than $55,000 worth of prohibited drugs seized following an investigation into the supply of prohibited drugs in the state’s north west and Central Coast.
Police say that in October, officers attached to Oxley Police District established Strike Force Kunderbung to investigate a drug supply network operating between the Tamworth and area and the Central Coast.
“Following inquiries, investigators stopped a vehicle at Willow Tree, about 7.30am yesterday and spoke to the driver, a 51-year-old man,” NSW Police said in a statement today.
During a search of the vehicle, police allegedly located 112g of methylamphetamine.
The driver, a Wattanobbi man, was arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station.
He was charged with supply prohibited drug – commercial quantity and supply prohibited drug – indictable quantity.
Detectives also executed search warrants at homes on Fitzroy Street at Barraba, Rowan Street at Manilla, and Maxwell Street at Tamworth.
Police seized upward of $80,000 in cash, five grams of methylamphetamine, 30 grams of cannabis leaf, and other drug paraphernalia in the searches and a 46-year-old Barraba man was arrested.
“He was charged with supply prohibited drug – indictable quantity, supply prohibited drug – commercial quantity, supply prohibited drug – large commercial quantity, two counts of possess prohibited drug, and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime with intent to conceal,” NSW Police said.
Both men have been refused bail to appear before Tamworth Local Court today.
“Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District, conducting joint investigation Strike Force Harle, executed three search warrants in the Wyong area which resulted in the seizure of an unregistered pistol, more than $25,000 cash and 20g of methylamphetamine,” NSW Police said.
“A 46-year-old Watanobbi man was arrested and remains in police custody.”
Police say investigations under Strike Force Harle continue.
