Convicted child sex offender, Rolf Harris has died aged 93 after a battle with neck cancer.
The former entertainer enjoyed a glittering career in showbiz until his arrest on indecent assault charges in 2013.
His family confirmed his passing yesterday, however his death certificate shows he in fact died several weeks ago, on May 10th.
An ambulance had been seen at Mr Harris’ home on May 11th.
The cause of death was listed as metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of neck and “fragility of old age”.
It’s believed the time gap between his actual death and the formal announcement of his death may have given his family time to hold a funeral away from the public glare.
Family members released a brief statement, simply saying he had “died peacefully surrounded by family and friends and has now been laid to rest”.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Alwen Hughes, 91, who has Alzheimer’s disease. The couple had needed live-in care at the time of Mr Harris’ passing.
