Work begins on Hervey Bay retiree clubhouse

Thyme Lifestyle Resort Hervey Bay has officially started work on a new multimillion-dollar state-of-the-art clubhouse for its over-50s community.

Fraser Coast Deputy Mayor, Paul Truscott and Serenitas CEO, Rob Nichols, this morning turned the first sod on civil works for Serenitas’ new Clubhouse at Thyme Hervey Bay.

They were also joined by homeowners from the Thyme Hervey Bay community, who will get to enjoy the new facilities once the Clubhouse opens next year.

“We are excited to be starting work on this world-class Clubhouse, as it is a significant milestone in providing our homeowners with opportunities to socialise and access the superb recreational facilities,” said Mr Nichols.

“The Clubhouse will be the focal point to connect the Thyme Hervey Bay community, acting as an extension of their own homes where friends and family will be welcomed in style at this beautiful coastal location.

“Our focus is on creating a vibrant, active and engaging community, building on the many benefits already on offer thanks to the resort’s close proximity to the lively coastal town centre of Hervey Bay, the beach, coastal walks and exciting local destinations such as Fraser Island,” he said.

Mr Nicholas said the new Clubhouse is being positioned to overlook the resort’s lake and nature reserve. It will feature an alfresco dining space, coffee lounge, private bar, movie cinema, library, arts and craft studio, and games area where residents can play darts, billiards, ten pin or lawn bowls.

“We have set out to create a Clubhouse that is world class in its design and function. Specifically, what will make the Thyme Clubhouse a premiere destination for our homeowners is the spectacular sweeping views it will offer over the lake and nature reserve and the extensive number of luxurious facilities on offer,” said Mr Nichols.

“I look forward to next year when we open the doors to the Thyme Clubhouse and providing even more opportunities for all our homeowners to share, create and enjoy special moments in time together.”
