Woman charged with husband’s murder and dismemberment

NSW Police Homicide Squad detectives have charged a Greenacre woman with allegedly murdering and dismembering her 62-year-old husband last year.

In July 2023, officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command were called to a home on Juno Parade, Greenacre, following reports a 62-year-old man had not been seen since May 2023.

Police immediately commenced inquiries to locate the man, including a public appeal for information.

“During these inquiries, police deemed the disappearance suspicious, and detectives attached to State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad established Strike Force Tannerie to investigate the incident,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“Following extensive investigations, strike force detectives arrested a 53-year-old woman – and wife of the missing man – at a hospital in Bankstown, at about 1pm on Thursday 3 October 2024.”

She was taken to Bankstown Police Station at around 10am yesterday where she was charged with murder DV.

Detectives will allege in court the woman killed her husband before cutting up his body to hide the remains.

Strike force detectives simultaneously executed a crime scene warrant at a home on Juno Parade, Greenacre.

The woman was refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court yesterday where she was further refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court on December 11th.

Investigations under Strike Force Tannerie continue.
