Woman arrested in KFC knife threat case

A woman has been arrested in Batemans Bay following a threatening knife incident in Queanbeyan this morning.

Police say that just before 12.30pm, officers were conducting patrols along Beach Road, Batemans Bay, when they noticed a blue Ford Focus linked to an earlier incident at a Queanbeyan KFC.

“It will be alleged the car was used to flee the scene after an unknown man, armed with a knife, threatened two men – aged 32 and 60 – in the car park of a fast food restaurant on Waniassa Road about about 6.15am today,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“Following inquiries, the Ford was seen at Batemans Bay, and officers attached to South Coast Police District initiated a pursuit.

“The driver – a 36-year-old woman – is currently assisting police with inquiries.”

Police investigations are continuing to locate the woman’s two passengers – a male and a female.

Anyone with information that may assist with the investigation is urged to call Queanbeyan Police on 6298 0599 or Batemans Bay Police on 4472 0099.
