Woman, 59, arrested over heroin seizure

Police have arrested a 59-year-old St Kilda woman after the seizure of $16,000 worth of heroin at a home this morning.

Officers executed a search warrant at an address on Fitzroy Street where they seized approximately 41 grams of heroin which has a street value of more than $16,000. Police also seized more than $2,500 in cash. 

A 59-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and has been charged with trafficking and possessing heroin and dealing with the proceeds of crime. 

She has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrate’s Court at a later date.

“Operation Spartan continues in St Kilda with police focussed on detecting and deterring drug offending and volume crime in the local community,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
