Former Queensland MP, Vaughan Johnson OAM, has passed away at the age of 75.
Mr Johnson served in the Queensland Parliament as Member for Gregory from 1989 until his retirement in 2015.
He was a fierce advocate for Western Queensland during his many years of public service, including his time as Minister for Transport and Main Roads in the Borbidge Government.
Mr Johnson worked as a grazier prior to entering politics and was well known as an advocate for producers.
In a Facebook post, Nanango MP, Deb Frecklington said Mr Johnson would never be forgotten.
“A tough old bugger and a wonderful friend and colleague” she wrote.
“May you rest in peace.”
