Urgent alert for Earlwood RSL pokies room

NSW Health has issued an urgent alert for anyone who attended Earlwood Bardwell Park RSL’s gaming room on the night of Monday, December 28 to get tested for COVID-19 after a positive case spent time playing pokies in the venue.

The health authority is also asking customers who visited a Woolworths supermarket in Sydney’s west over a 10-day period to be tested and self-isolate for 14 days.

“Anyone who was in the gaming area for an hour or more is a close contact and must immediately get tested and self-isolate for 14 days regardless of the result,” said NSW Health of the Earlwood RSL case.

Anyone who was in the RSL’s gaming room between 8.52pm and 11.30pm on December 28 is now being told to get tested.

“Anyone else in the gaming room for less than an hour at the above times is a casual contact and should get tested and immediately self-isolate until you receive a negative result. You should continue to monitor for symptoms and if any symptoms occur, get tested again,” NSW Health said.

NSW Health has also expanded its possible COVID-19 exposure times for bottle shop, BWS Berala, customers and staff.

“NSW Health now advises anyone who attended the store at any other time between Sunday 20 December and Thursday 31 December (outside of the times previously advised) should get tested and immediately self-isolate until you receive a negative result. You should continue to monitor for symptoms and if any symptoms occur, get tested again.”
