Unlicenced teen charged over hit-and-run

Victoria Police have arrested and charged an unlicenced teenage driver over an alleged hit-run in Donvale over the weekend.

Police say a woman was getting items out of her car, which was parked on Tunstall Road, when she was hit by a red Mazda about 10pm on Saturday.

The 50-year-old Box Hill woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Mazda did not stop at the scene, Victoria Police said in a statement today.

A 17-year-old Donvale teen was arrested today. He has been released pending summons and is expected to be charged with failing to stop after an accident, failing to render assistance, failing to report an accident, driving in a dangerous manner, careless driving and unlicenced driving.
