Anglicare South Australia says two more workers at its Bromptom aged care centre have tested positive to COVID-19.
The aged care facility was locked down yesterday after two nurses – a mother and daughter – tested positive on Sunday.
Anglicare SA CEO, Peter Sandeman said all four infected staff were now in quarantine.
“This is the worst nightmare any aged care proprietor can face,” he told Nine’s Today Show.
“The residents are holding up well, the staff are all caring for the residents and progressively, of course, we will have to replace staff who are assessed as a risk.”
Mr Sandeman said staff were being tested as they arrived for work and residents of the facility – which houses homeless elderly people – would undergo a second of testing tomorrow.
“If any resident tests positive they will be removed to hospital straight away,” he said.
An official case numbers update is expected to be released by SA Health later today.
