Two arrested over Pacific Haven murder

A man and woman will face court today over the alleged murder of a 58-year-old man at Pacific Haven in April.

A 40-year-old woman and 42-year-old man were taken into custody after a search warrant was executed at a Maryborough residence yesterday.

“It will be alleged the pair were involved in an altercation with Mark Carson on April 3, during which he sustained fatal injuries,” Queensland Police said in a statement.

They are expected to appear in Maryborough Magistrates Court today charged with one count of murder each.

Detective Senior Sergeant David Harbison, Officer-in-Charge of the Maryborough CIB, thanked members of the community for providing critical information which led to the arrests.

“The arrests follow an exhaustive investigation involving detectives from our local Criminal Investigation Branch in partnership with the Homicide Squad,” he said.

“We hope today’s arrests bring some closure to Mark Carson’s family.”

Investigators are also appealing to a member of the public who contacted Crime Stoppers around 10am on Tuesday, April 6.

The information provided by this individual is important and police are encouraging them to contact them through Crime Stoppers again.
