NSW Police detectives have charged a 60-year-old man with alleged child abuse material offences in the State’s north.
Earlier this month, officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District commenced an investigation into the alleged possession of child abuse material by a man in the Tweed Heads area.
“Following extensive inquiries, about 9.40am yesterday, detectives executed a search warrant at a home in Tweed Heads,” NSW Police confirmed in a statement.
“During the search, police located and seized electronic devices.”
The 60-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where he was charged with
– Possess child abuse data use carriage service
– Transmit to self child abuse matter by carriage
– Fail to comply with reporting obligations
– Intentionally record intimate image without consent (DV), and
– Person disseminates bestiality material.
He was refused bail to appear before Local Bail Division – Court 1 today.
