“Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“An 89-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital. He remains there in a critical condition.”

The driver of the truck allegedly failed to stop and drove from the scene, Police said.
