Anyone travelling to Queensland from New South Wales is being urged to keep up-to-date with current border restrictions which require travellers to obtain a border declaration pass to enter the state.
Queensland checkpoints have been reinstated at the border with officers checking all border passes.

The Queensland border is closed to anyone who has been in a COVID-19 hotspot in the last 14 days. The current New South Wales declared hotspots can be found here.
Anyone travelling to Queensland who has been anywhere in New South Wales at any time since 1am Friday 11 December must complete a Queensland Border Declaration Pass before they enter Queensland.Residents in border communities and returning Queenslanders intending to cross the border from New South Wales to Queensland must also complete a Queensland Border Declaration Pass.
If you are a returning Queensland resident who has been in a COVID-19 hotspot in the last 14 days, you will be required to complete mandatory hotel quarantine.To ensure priority and timely access through the road borders and airports, police are urging all travellers to apply for their Queensland Border Declaration Pass prior to their travel.
If you are entering Queensland via road, please ensure you print your pass and display it on your windscreen.Providing false information on the declaration or entering Queensland unlawfully could result in a $4,003 fine or a notice to appear in court.For more information including questions and answers about the new restrictions click here.
