A 65-year-old truck driver was treated for shock after a horror collision with a car in the state’s Central West yesterday.
The teenager driver of the car is in a critical condition, while his passengers escaped with only minor injuries.
Police say that just after 5.30pm yesterday, emergency services were called to Sherriff Street near Dowling Street, Forbes, after reports a Suzuki Vitara and a B-Double truck had collided.
“The driver of the Suzuki, an 18-year-old man, was trapped before being freed by Fire and Rescue NSW. He was taken to Parkes Hospital before being airlifted to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition,” NSW Police said in a statement.
Two 17-year-old passengers in the Suzuki were assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics, and one was transferred to hospital with minor injuries.
“The driver of a truck – a 65-year-old man – was taken to Forbes Hospital for treatment of shock, and mandatory testing,” police said.
