Teen drowns at Diamond Beach

A teenager has drowned at a mid north coast beach this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Diamond Beach near Hallidays Point – which is unpatrolled – about 1pm today, following reports a teenage boy was having difficulty in the water while swimming with family members.

Upon arrival, officers from Manning-Great Lakes Police District pulled the 17-year-old from the water and began conducting CPR before NSW Ambulance paramedics continued, however, tragically he died at the scene.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
