A teenage boy has been charged following an aggravated break-in at a home in Dubbo last month.
Police say that at about 1.15pm on August 3, a 92-year-old woman was on the front veranda of her home on Crown Street, Dubbo, when she heard a noise coming from inside.
Police will allege she was confronted by a male who threatened her with a knife and demanded cash. He left the scene after taking the woman’s bank debit card and a small amount of loose change.Â
Following inquiries, officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District arrested a 16-year-old boy at a home in Wellington on Thursday.
He was taken to Wellington Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-armed, and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.
The youth was formerly refused bail at a Children’s Court on last Friday and will reappear at a children’s court on October 12.
