Teen charged over assault on ambos

A teenage boy has been charged after allegedly assaulting two NSW Ambulance paramedics on Sydney’s Northern Beaches overnight.

Police say that at around 11.45pm on Tuesday, emergency services were called to Pittwater Road, North Narrabeen, after members of the public found a male asleep behind a bus shelter.

“Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended a short time later and assisted the unknown male into the back of an ambulance,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“Police will allege the male then allegedly became verbally aggressive and assaulted two male NSW Ambulance paramedics.”

The 16-year-old was arrested and taken to Manly Police Station.

He was charged with common assault (two counts), resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty and breach of bail.

The Wheeler Heights teen was refused bail and will appear at a Children’s Court today.
